Questions, answered plainly.
Most of what people ask, in one page. If yours is missing, write to us.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No subscription, no ads, no paywall, no account. The Scripture texts are in the public domain and the rest is given away on purpose.
- Which translations can I read?
- The World English Bible (default), the King James Version and the American Standard Version. Change the translation in the reader, and put any two side by side with Compare.
- When will Mongolian be available?
- The site and its tools are being prepared for Mongolian now; Scripture text follows once a translation can be published freely. See Languages for the current state.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Highlights, notes, bookmarks, plan progress and preferences are stored in your own browser. Use My Library → Back up to export them, and Restore on another device.
- Why did my highlights disappear?
- Because they live in your browser, clearing site data (or using a private window) removes them. A backup file from My Library restores everything.
- Can I use this in my church, class or video?
- Yes. Every text here is public domain, so you may quote, print, record, translate and project it without asking. Cross-reference data is CC-BY: credit openBible.info if you reuse it.
- Does it work offline?
- Chapters you have opened stay cached for the session. Full offline reading and audio are planned for the mobile app.
- How do I jump to a verse?
- Type a reference such as
John 3:16orPs 23into search, or press ← and → in the reader to move between chapters.
